Pueblo Lobbyist, Legend Wally Stealey Dies at 83

Wallace "Wally" Stealey, who helped launch the political careers of many Democrats and was a legend as a Colorado lobbyist, died at his Pueblo home Friday morning of congestive heart failure, the Pueblo Chieftain reported. He was 83.

"Stealey was remembered as jovial, shrewd, well-connected and warm by colleagues and friends," the newspaper said. 

Former Gov. Richard Lamm told The Chieftain that Stealey was a key aide during his administration.

Colorado Ethics Watch to Close Doors

Colorado Ethics Watch, the ethics advocacy group that has spent the last decade ensuring Colorado's campaign finance and ethics laws are followed, announced Thursday it will cease operations at the end of the year.
